Why We Chose the Size 1 Capsule for Your D3 & K2 📏

Most high-potency vitamins come in massive "00" capsules that are frankly a struggle to swallow every morning. At Dr. Berg, we believe your health routine shouldn't feel like a chore. That’s why we’ve meticulously formulated our D3 & K2 into a Size 1 capsule.

Measuring under 20mm, it’s significantly smaller and sleeker than the industry standard, making it perfect for anyone with a sensitive gag reflex or for seniors who need a smoother experience. But don’t let the compact size fool you—we haven't compromised on strength. You’re still getting a professional-grade dose of 10,000 IU Vitamin D3 and 100 mcg Vitamin K2 in every single serving. High potency meets ultimate comfort.

        Dr. Berg's Farm

Our mission: Cultivating fertile soil for nutritious food

Knowing the devastating impact of soil degradation on plant and livestock quality, Dr. Berg embarked on a mission to grow fertile soil and nutritious, flavorful foods on his farm in Western Virginia.

Modern agriculture results in infertile soils that yield nutrient-poor crops containing up to 40 percent fewer essential vitamins and minerals than produce harvested only five decades ago.

Poor soil quality diminishes the nutrient density of crops and the livestock that feed on them, perpetuating a cycle of declining nutritional value in the food supply and compromising health.

Dr. Berg's approach to living soil

Soil is more than the dirt under your feet; it’s a living ecosystem with water, minerals, gasses, microorganisms, and insects that work synergistically.

      Product title

      Microorganisms

Microorganisms play a key role in decomposition (the break down of organic matter) and the cycling of nutrients and water to our plants and crops. Decaying organic matter provides microorganisms with energy for their growth and supplies carbon for the formation of new cells. As microorganisms help break down organic matter, they release essential nutrients and carbon dioxide into the soil, fix nitrogen and help transform nutrients into mineral forms that plants can use through a process called mineralization. In addition, as these microorganisms move through the soil, they aerate it, helping to improve soil drainage and soil structure.

      Product title

      Pesticides & Herbicides

Heavy treatment of soil with pesticides and herbicides can cause populations of beneficial soil microorganisms to decline. For example, plants depend on a variety of soil microorganisms to transform atmospheric nitrogen into nitrates, which plants can use. Common landscape herbicides disrupt this process: triclopyr inhibits soil bacteria that transform ammonia into nitrite; glyphosate reduces the growth and activity of free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria in soil and 2,4-D reduces nitrogen fixation by the bacteria that live on the roots of bean plants, reduces the growth and activity of nitrogen-fixing blue-green algae, and inhibits the transformation of ammonia into nitrates by soil bacteria. Mycorrhizal fungi grow with the roots of many plants and aid in nutrient uptake. These fungi can also be damaged by herbicides in the soil.

      Product title

      Insects

The soil developed on Dr. Berg’s farm maintains an ecologically balanced environment with predator-prey dynamics using tiny insects, such as springtails, to control harmful fungi and pests. This is an essential part of keeping the farm free of harmful pesticides and herbicides. After harvest, the soil is regenerated with organic matter from the compost of livestock and plant residues to restore the nutrient cycle.

      Nurturing nutrient rich soil

Dr. Berg conducts soil research to optimize the growth of nutrient-rich produce and the well-being of his animals, underscoring his commitment to foundational health principles.

      • Greenhouse innovations for exceptional nutrition

Dr Berg’s farm thrives on cutting-edge greenhouse techniques for nutrient-rich crops. Crop cultivation begins in a specialized greenhouse, where groundbreaking lighting techniques manage plant growth and nutrition.

Intense red-spectrum grow lights mimic the sun's light spectrum, encouraging photosynthesis, boosting seedling development, and enhancing budding and flowering.

The addition of blue light exposure increases the plants' phytonutrient content, supercharging their antioxidant capacity and nutritional value.

      • Turning waste into health

Composting recycles decomposing organic matter, such as plant scraps and livestock manure, into a nutrient-rich amendment to increase soil fertility. The soil on Dr. Berg’s farm is carefully composted to ensure soil recovery and nutrient regeneration, providing maximum benefits for plant growth.

Biochar, made from wood scraps heated to create charcoal, is also added to the soil as an eco-friendly alternative to perlite, which is energy-intensive to produce.

Biochar stores carbon, increases soil porosity, improves water retention, and provides a habitat for beneficial microbes to flourish. It also enhances composting efficiency, shortening the timespan needed to create compost by 30 percent so nutrients can be added back into the soil more quickly.

      • Every drop counts

Water efficiency is foundational at Dr. Berg’s farm, where continuous developments are made to preserve and harvest mineral-rich water to drive plant growth and nutrient density.

Biochar in the soil increases water retention by up to ten percent, requiring less frequent watering and moderate plant stress. This adaptive response produces crops richer in health-supporting phytonutrients.

Rainwater is also harvested from the greenhouse and is funneled into an irrigation pond populated with bluegill fish, which fortify the water with nutrient-rich waste, reducing the need for soil amendments and fertilizer.

      • Inspiring the future and educating tomorrow’s farmers

Dr. Berg plans to open his farm to local students, helping to shape the minds of the next generation of farmers, homesteaders, and suburban gardeners.

Students will discover where their food comes from by engaging in greenhouse activities, exploring the microscopic world of plant fertility, and learning about the intricacies of sustainable practices to enhance the health, nutritional value, and flavor of food.

        FAQs

I have trouble swallowing large pills. How big are these capsules?

We designed this specifically for you! Unlike many brands that use bulky "00" horse pills, Dr. Berg’s D3 & K2 uses a compact Size 1 capsule (approx. 19mm). It’s much smaller, sleeker, and goes down smooth, making your daily supplement routine effortless.

Why should I take Vitamin D3 and K2 together instead of just D3?

They are the "perfect pair." Vitamin D3 helps your body absorb calcium, but Vitamin K2 (as MK-7) acts like a GPS, directing that calcium into your bones and teeth where it’s needed, rather than letting it build up in your arteries. It’s the safest way to support both bone and heart health.

Is 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per day too much?

This is a professional-grade, high-potency formula designed to effectively boost levels for those with deficiencies or limited sun exposure. Since Vitamin D is fat-soluble, our formula also includes purified bile salts to maximize absorption, ensuring you get the most out of every dose. As always, consult your healthcare provider for your specific needs.

How long will one bottle last me?

Each bottle contains 120 vegetable capsules. With a recommended serving size of just one small capsule per day, a single bottle provides a full 4-month (120-day) supply, making it a convenient and cost-effective solution for your long-term wellness.
